Companies that prosper over time show a clear sense of purpose and core values. They translate them into action and ensure that they are reflected consistently throughout the organization in everything it does. At Kohler Co., adherence to our corporate mission ..."to improve the level of gracious living in the lives of all who are touched by our products and services"...identifies a clear sense of purpose for the more than 31,000 Kohler associates around the world. Continued success springs from a clear sense of purpose and a corporate culture which promotes: Living on the leading edge, meshing art and advanced technology to create new products, new markets and new niches within existing markets. Maintaining a single high standard of quality in all products and services to make them capable of delighting the senses and sensibility of end users consistently. Continually reinvesting the majority of our earnings in operational excellence. These principles have been powerful in driving the long-term success and character of the Kohler organization. Yet, a company cannot be explained in terms of mission or principles alone. Human energy is required to give life and direction to a mission. Leaders: Taking the Long-Term Perspective What we have accomplished can be credited, in part, to company leadership that has had the leeway to think long-term and for whom relationships matter. Our leaders have been strong, self-reliant, never wanting for original ideas, and possessing the courage to expand, diversify, and take necessary risks to achieve our objectives. That courage is evident in such unconventional decisions as: Moving the Kohler factory to the Wisconsin countryside in 1899 to provide an improved quality of life for employees Branching out into the generator business in the 1920s Rolling out a host of products in bold new colors and shapes, beginning in the 1960s, that forever changed the face of the American bath. Developing a second 50-year plan for the controlled growth of the Village of Kohler in the 1970s. November 2009 KOHLER INTRODUCES ITS FIRST SINGLE FLUSH, ONE-PIECE, HIGH EFFICIENCY TOILET The new Archer toilet one-piece joins extensive bathroom suite, combining water savings with timeless design Kohler Co., 2008 and 2009 WaterSense Partner of the Year, introduced the company’s first one-piece, single-flush, high efficiency toilet – the KOHLER Archer toilet. This toilet is a new addition to the Archer suite of bathroom products. The new KOHLER Archer toilet marks another design and water conservation breakthrough for Kohler, said Paul Nick, sanitary marketing manager at Kohler Co. This toilet truly adheres to the Kohler moniker for saving water without sacrificing design or performance. The transitional aesthetic of the Archer Suite is achieved by blending subtle design elements found in craftsman furniture’s chamfering techniques and the intricate facets of jewelry. This combination of beveled edges and curved bases creates a classic look that appeals to an array of design motifs. The Archer Suite is a comprehensive assortment of bathroom fixtures that feature undercounter, self-rimming and pedestal lavatories, a petite vanity, as well as baths, whirlpools, BubbleMassage™ baths, a shower receptor and mirrored cabinets, as well as faucets. The broad mix of products in the suite allows homeowners to select coordinated fixtures and faucets that meet their bathing and grooming needs, as well as the space configurations of their specific bathroom layout. The Archer one-piece toilet features Kohler’s Class Five flushing technology, which is engineered to provide extraordinary bulk flushing performance as well as water savings. The Archer toilet is WaterSensesm labeled, as part of a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The label guarantees consumers are purchasing a product that reduces water usage, and meets strict performance guidelines. To be eligible for the WaterSense label, toilets must flush, on average, with 20 percent less water than the standard 1.6 gpf toilets. Archer toilet Innovative flush tower ensures consistent, reliable flushing performance with no tank run-ons 1.28-gallon gpf saves a typical family of four up to 16,500 gallons of water per fixture per year Curved detailing along toilet base 1-piece design provides users with easy cleanability and seamless lines As a global design and technology leader of products for the kitchen and bath, Kohler Co. offers plumbing products under its KOHLER and STERLING brands that are designed to conserve natural resources while remaining true to a singular level of quality for performance and design.
